Rhonda
Thaiheimer - Calgary
“Every year since we had the kids, we’ve had some kind of pool
for them, starting with the tiny inflatables. And every year as
the kids got bigger, the pool got bigger,” says Rhonda Thaiheimer,
whose family has recently taken the plunge and built a permanent
outdoor pool in their backyard. With their three boys now 10,
13 and 16 years old, the Thalheimers opted for a 16-by 32-foot
in ground vinyl liner pool, big enough for three growing boys
and two adults who like to swim.
It really is a lifestyle choice, says Thalheimer. Her husband
Jim, an independent television director, travels extensively and
relishes his time at home. Building their pool was a family decision.
“We' re not campers. We asked the kids if they wanted to travel,
or get a pool. So, guess what they picked? They figure they can
always travel when they’re older.”
Lisa Buzzell - Calgary
“We decided this is our Lake Windermere,” she explains. “We didn’t
want to get into the commuting game.” Both husband and wife grew
up in eastern Canada, where cottages and lakes are summer mainstays.
“This house has become a sort of a cottage home, it has everything.
It’s a lifestyle choice.”
The owners’ south-facing Roman end pool is surrounded by a textured
concrete patio just off the kitchen, where mom can keep an eye
on her two young children. Her “little fishes” often spend up
to four hours a day in the pool.
“We have friends over on the week end to play tennis, the kids
jump in the pool and they go swimming, it’s a really social thing,”
says the owner.
Don and Shelley Franklin also find their pool the centre of their
family’s summer social activities. The Franklin’s, who have two
young daughters, regard their pool as another child. It’s demanding
and almost always in need of attention, but they love it all the
same. And the girls practically live in it from the Victoria Day
weekend in May to the Labour Day weekend in September.
Kids aren’t the only ones who enjoy pools.

This letter is just a brief note to say “thank-you” for your prompt
and efficient service of our pool. I really appreciate the fact
that one phone call resulted in immediate action, and attention
to our needs, as during a hectic work day, worrying about a pool
is low on my priority list. I had never previously called upon
your company’s service, however, I commend your business operations,
which are superior to the other company I had dealt with in the
past, and would recommend your services to our friends.
Thank - you once again.

Just a short note to say thanks so much for the great service.
I seem to be telling everyone about your great customer service.
It's nice to know that there are companies out there that really
do that extra step for the customer.
Thanks again.
